Fri, Jun 17, 2005 Another awesome afternoon at Skiatook. there was quite a bit more boating activity today and lots more lake lice. However, that did not slow down the Hybrid bite. I'm convinced now that all that noise bothers me a lot more than it bothers the fish. I lost count of the number of Hybrids we caught, I had four anglers from Ponca City and we had a blast. We found some willing fish about 5 PM and it was constant "fish on." The fish today liked the bait on the bottom away from the boat. We would get hit very quickly if you cast the shad about thirty feet and let it sink to the bottom. All the fish today ran 4-8 lbs. We kept a few for a fish fry and released the rest to fight and eat another day. Bait is plentiful below Keystone dam right now. The flood gates are open and the bait is right on the bank. I've found it easier to get them in a cast net than my scoop net. My trip tomorrow is up to Sooner.
