I didn't get to the lake until about 2 PM. We started looking around and
there was traffic everywhere I've been fishing lately. I didn't see anyone
catching anything anyway. We explored a little more and finally located a
few fish in one of my favorite spots. The wind had died down and I decided
to chum a little. You would have thought I rang the dinner bell for some
hungry field hands, Those Brids turned on and we started getting them on big
shad, little shad. downlines, free lines, and any other combination I could
think of. If a rod wasn't bent it didn't have bait on it, this was the most
frenzied feeding I've seen all fall. I was with my brother and we were just
fishing for fun, he did't believe that chumming would work so, while I was
cleaning fish I cut one of their stomachs open and out spilled a bunch of
the small pieces of shad I had cut up. Don't forget this technique if the
bite is slow.
