  • Skiatook Lake 4/29/2012

Sun, Apr 29, 2012 I met my clients at 9 AM this morning and we headed out of Tall Chief. It was a bit of a slow start and I feared it was going to be a repeat of yesterday. I refused to give in to the frustration and kept looking for the active feeders. It never got fast and furious but steadily the body count grew until we had 15 nice sized Hybrids and a good sized Bluecat in the box. A much better result than Saturday. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 4/28/2012

Sat, Apr 28, 2012 We never really found the fish today. We looked all over the lake from Tall Chief Cove to the Highway 20 bridge. After all that running around we ended the day without catching a Hybrid. :(   read more No Comments

Fri, Apr 27, 2012 We decided to reschedule the trip for today due to 30 MPH wind forecast. I'm very glad we did not try to fish today. read more No Comments

  • Skiatook Lake 4/24/2012

Tue, Apr 24, 2012 I had the pleasure to meet some new clients today for a trip to Skiatook. It turns out they are neighbors of mine here in Bixby. It was a beautiful day at Skiatook, but the action was a little slow for this time of year. We ended up with 4 Hybrids and 6 Sandies. The high point of the day though was the look on Elizabeth's face every time she caught a fish. It didn't matter at all what kind of fish it was. This is exactly why I don't charge to take kids fishing. Call me to book a... read more No Comments
  • Sooner Lake 4/22/2012

Sun, Apr 22, 2012 My clients for today were from Woodward, they came to Ponca City last night to spend the night so we could get an early start this morning. At 8 AM the wind was already blowing at 20 with higher gusts. There was only one spot we could fish withose conditions and unfortunately the fish were not there. We ended up cutting the trip short with Zero Hybrids in the box. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 4/21/2012

Sat, Apr 21, 2012 This was the April "Party Boat" Trip. We had four anglers on board and it was looking like a great day to be at the lake. It started off slow and never really improved all day. We ended up with only two Hybrids and one Sandie for the entire day's effort. read more No Comments
  • Bull Shoals Lake 4/16/2012

Mon, Apr 16, 2012 I made a trip to Missouri to visit some family and get into some of the Magnum White Bass at Bull Shoals. We didn't hit it at it's peak but we still got a few along with some giant Crappie and good sized Walleye. We also caught a ton of small Largemouth Bass. All in all it was a good trip here is one of the Walleye. read more No Comments
  • Ouachita Lake 4/12/2012

Thu, Apr 12, 2012 My clients came down on Wednesday afternoon and we fished until Friday. It was quite a bit slower with only one fish per day on Thursday and Friday. I was hoping for a much better result since this is my last trip down there until next winter. read more No Comments
  • Sooner Lake 4/9/2012

Tue, Apr 10, 2012 On Monday I got a reminder of why this sport is called fishing and not catching. We ran all over the lake and tried every trick in the book to catch a limit of Hybrids for my clients. The total catch for all that effort was nine fish of which only five were Hybrids. The rest were Largemouth Bass. What a difference from the catch on Saturday. read more No Comments
  • Ouachita Lake 4/10/2012

Tue, Apr 10, 2012 This is my next to last trip to Ouachita this spring. The lake is full, the weather is perfect, and the fish are hungry. What a combination. I fished Tuesday and Wednesday with my brother and we wacked them good. We boated four on Tuesday and eight on Wednesday. read more No Comments
  • Sooner Lake 4/7/2012

Sat, Apr 07, 2012 I took clients to Sooner today and it was a good call. I drove through two good showers before I got there but it started clearing off right when my customers arrived. We started off in the discharge where I've really been doing good but it was pretty slow. We had 2 LMB's and 2 Hybrids in the first hour so we moved to the lake. The next stop was pretty slow, so we moved a little and found a good group of fish in 20 FOW. We stayed there until I noticed another group of storms building and coming... read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 4/2/2012

Tue, Apr 03, 2012 Last fall I had a client call me about a fishing trip to Sooner for his girlfriend and himself. We got the trip booked and I met them at Sooner for our day of fishing. Turns out to be a rather special day indeed, when they got there he asked if I would take some pics of them while he proposed marriage to her. I said of course I would and I did. They called again a couple of weeks ago to book a springtime trip to Skiatook and we did that trip on Monday. Turns out they got married on Sunday... read more No Comments
  • Ouachita Lake 3/31 - 4/1/2012

Sun, Apr 01, 2012 We hit a perfect weather window for a two day trip to Ouachita. We boated a total of 21 Stripers and only missed 3. The fish have not spawned yet and are heavily laden with eggs or milt. My clients from Edmond had a great time, we ate a fantastic shore lunch on Saturday. This was probably my best trip to Ouachita in two years. Click "read more" to see the pics. read more No Comments
