Sun, Jun 27, 2010 We had an awesome trip today. We shoved off from Skiatook Point at 0900 and started looking for active feeders. It took three stops and about an hour to find them. When we found them it was constant "Fish On" for over two hours then it slowed down to a steady and regular bite. All fish were fat and sassy. We got our over 20 inch fish pretty quick and started having to  release the bigger ones. I ended up cleaning a four person limit and releasing several more. Fri, Jun 25, 2010 I had three generations of the Florea family on board today. We left the ramp at 0700 and were on a very agressive bite by 0705. The first fish of the day was to be the big fish of the day. As you can see in the pic it was a NICE ONE!! We stayed up with this school for a couple of hours before they moved on. The bite was slower but steady for the rest of the day. Click "read more" to see the pics. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 6/23/2010

Wed, Jun 23, 2010 We got a real early start this morning for what we hoped would be a full day of catching Hybrids. The weather was really nice at 6 AM but the fish were a little finicky. It took us until 8:30 to find the active fish. That bite lasted about an hour and then it was back to the search. The fish had pretty much moved out of the spots where we have been finding them. We found another good school and put a few more in the boat. We ended up with 15 Hybrids and a couple of Sandies. Click... read more No Comments

Tue, Jun 22, 2010 We decided to start our trip today an hour earlier and the results were very favorable. We found fish at our first stop and stayed on them for over an hour. We caught fish steady for the rest of the trip with one more big flurry right towards the end. We ended up with 15 real nice Hybrids and a couple of Sandies. click read more to see the pics. read more No Comments

Mon, Jun 21, 2010 My friend David Clark has a old saying he uses on days like this that aptly describes our trip on Monday: " Some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug. " Monday we were the bug. We looked all over Skiatook and never found the active feeders. I burned up over half a tank of gas looking for fish. We ended up with only two Hybrids but they were nice ones. Click read more to see the pics. read more No Comments
  • Sooner Lake 6/19/2010

Sat, Jun 19, 2010 Saturday was the June "Party Boat" trip to Sooner. It was a very tough day of fishing. We found fish in several areas but could not keep them under the boat. It was frustrating seeing those fish on sonar and then see them disappear. We only managed four small Hybrids for all our efforts. Back to skiatook Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 6/18/2010

Fri, Jun 18, 2010 I met my party at 0700 this morning and we didn't have to go far to find the active feeders. We pulled away from the ramp at Skiatook Point and had the first fish on in less than 10 minutes. We caught fish steady all day and ended up with 2 gallons of Hybrid and Sand Bass fillets. All fish came from downlines in 35-45 ft. of water. Water temp is 81 and the lake level is falling slowly. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 6/17/2010

Thu, Jun 17, 2010 I had to take a few days off to go take care of some stuff for my Mom. There was a significant amount of rain while I was gone and Skiatook has come up about three ft. This rise in the lake level has not hurt the fishing. Today was my first trip out since last Saturday. We left Tall chief at 0700 and found fish almost everywhere we stopped. The fishing was steady all day and we got several Hybrids over 5 lbs. There were a few Sandies mixed in with the Hybrids at a couple of spots. I... read more No Comments

Sat, Jun 12, 2010 I had another great day up on Skiatook today. We got started a little later than usual because it took awhile to get bait this morning. The late start definitely did not affect the bite. We got on some very active fish at our first stop. Then it was pretty steady for the rest of the trip. I cleaned 12 Hybrids and we released about 20 more. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and a nice breeze most of the day. Water temp was down to 80 degrees. read more No Comments

Fri, Jun 11, 2010 We hit it for another afternoon trip on Thursday. It started off a little slow and ended with a huge bang!! we probably caught 30 real good sized Hybrids in the last hour. All fish came out of 35 ft. of water on downlines. read more No Comments

Fri, Jun 11, 2010 Friday was a little tougher than recent trips. I had some regular customers with their kids and we ran all over the lake looking for active fish. I don't think we caught more than three in any one spot. We still ended the trip with enough fish for a family fish fry. Take a look at this pic, it's what makes this worth while. We'll hit it again tomorrow. read more No Comments

Thu, Jun 10, 2010 I had my first afternoon trip to Skiatook on Wednesday. Now that the fish are on their summer pattern they will be feeding all day. We had an awesome day of catching Hybrids. The fish are out in 35 ft. of water and on Wednesday they were very willing. We only hit two spots to get all of our fish. I cleaned a 3 man limit and released at least that many more. We had lots of doubles and triples on this trip. We'll be up there again Thursday. read more No Comments

Sun, Jun 06, 2010 It was a little tougher today finding active fish and staying on them. I had three repeat customers in the boat today and we had to look all over the lake to get our fish. We got more Hybrids and less Sandies today. We never caught more than three fish in one spot. The cool front and resulting wind shift seemed to slow down the bite. We'll give another go next week starting on Tuesday. Email or call me to get in on some of this Summer fun. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Lake 6/5/2010

Sat, Jun 05, 2010 I had a great time on the water today. I had the Oklahoma Wildlife Department Fisheries Supervisor, Bill Wenthrop his wife and another couple who were friends of Bill's in the boat. I also had the Tulsa World Outdoor Editor, Kelly Bostian, in the boat. Kelly will be publishing a story about Hybrid fishing in Oklahoma, in an upcoming issue of the "World". The morning started off fast and furious, we had our first Hybrid on before I could bait the second rod. I just love it when you pull up on a school of actively feeding fish. It was... read more No Comments

Fri, Jun 04, 2010 Another beautiful day on Skiatook. The lake is in wonderful condition, full and clear. Water temp is 82 degrees. I had some new clients today and we did real good early in the day. It seemed like the fish scattered after noon. We ended up with a three person limit of Hybrids and several Sandies again. It was so fast and furious when we were really on fish that I forgot to get the camera out to take any pictures today. The hybrids were all in really good shape fat and sassy!! read more No Comments

Thu, Jun 03, 2010 The live bait fishing for Hybrid Stripers continues at a record setting pace in June. I had four repeat clients onboard today. we had a one hour delay because of the lightning around Skiatook this morning. We shoved off at 8 AM and got on some Hybrids at our first stop. The bite continued real steady all morning up til about noon and it slowed down. We finished out the trip with a four person limit of Hybrids and several Sandies. I've got bait and the boat is loaded up for another trip tomorrow. read more No Comments

Tue, Jun 01, 2010 The Memorial Day Weekend is behind us and the summer patterns are kicking in. I had a party of five out today from Broken Arrow and we had a blast. We caught fish at every stop except one. The bite was pretty steady all day but we definitely saved the best and most til the last stop. We probably put 10 fish in the box and released 10 more in that last hour. When the dust settled I had cleaned a five person limit of Hybrids and several Sandies too. It was a picture perfect day to be out on... read more No Comments
