  • Skiatook Lake 4/26/2010

Tue, Apr 27, 2010 Our trip on Monday was a little more challenging. The wind shifted to out of the north and it was much colder than the few days previous. My client was a young Marine and his grandfather. We had to look in several places to find active fish but when we found them they were very good sized Hybrids. We ended up cleaning 10 fish, plenty for the fish fry they were planning. Click "read more" to see the pictures. read more No Comments

  • Sooner Lake 4/10/2010

Mon, Apr 12, 2010 Last Saturday was the april "Party Boat" trip. We went up to Sooner since we've been doing so good up there. The bite on Skiatook hasn't quiet started yet. We all met at 10 AM and got into the fish at our first stop. The wind was a little bit of a factor since it was blowing about 20 MPH. but we had a spot where we could get out of it ok. We moved around in that area some but were basically in the same spot out in the main lake. The fish were willing and hungry. I cleaned... read more No Comments

Sun, Apr 04, 2010 I fished Sooner again today with clients. We had a great trip from the very start. I went right back to the area where we fished yesterday. We got into fish as soon as we got set up and the bite was on pretty much all afternoon. All fish were caught out in the main lake. Water temp was 55 degrees. I ended up cleaning 20 good sized Hybrids, we released several others. Click read more to see the pictures. read more No Comments

    Sat, Apr 03, 2010

I met my clients at 8 AM this morning for our trip on Sooner. We started looking at our usual early spring time spots but the fish were very scattered. We fished the first spot for an hour but there was no love. We continued up the discharge canal but couldn't find any large concentrations of fish. Four hours later we were still looking for our first bite. We moved out into the main body of the lake and found the water temps. hovering around 55 degrees. This is plenty warm to get the fish feeding actively. Finally we anchored on a windy point. where I saw a few fish on the sonar. I put out some chum and it was on. We put close to 40 Hybrids in the boat in a couple of hours. It was a big finish and a very slow start. No pics today.

Fri, Apr 02, 2010 Today was the first trip to Skiatook in 2010. We had to dodge a few storms this morning and had to fish in the rain some. About 10 AM it stopped raining and the wind layed down until it was absolutely calm. The first fish of the day was a 15 pound Flathead. We followed that with one Sandbass and five good sized Hybrids. The water temp today was 54 degrees. The Hybrid fishing should get better every day this month.Click read more to see pics. read more No Comments
