Another successful "Party Boat" trip is in the book. We only had three anglers today and the bite was pretty intense early this morning. We found active feeders on our second stop and were able to stay on them for a couple of hours. we found another BIG bunch of fish later on but they had lockjaw. I thought I was going to have a heart attack, there were so many fish on the sonar. We had shad and slabs going deep and shallow, but no takers. Click on read more to see the pictures.

The Party Boat trip on Saturday was a huge success. Sometimes the moon and stars align for the perfect trip and that was what we had. The trips when there are kids along are always special. We caught a LOT of fish. I cleaned over 40 Sand Bass and Hybrids. We released at least 15 more to grow up and fight another day. The BITE is on up at Skiatook right now. Call or Email me to reserve your date. Click the read more link to see the pictures.

The fishing on Saturday started off pretty slow but we kept looking for fish and finally found some active feeders. We ended up with 12 Hybrids for the day. That is pretty slow for a trip to Sooner but this early Fall weather has the bait fish scattered all over the lake. The hybrids were very hungry and readily took our baits but they were moving and it was hard to stay on them. No pictures today.

My clients wanted a morning trip today so after a short rain delay we struck out from Skiatook Point. I went right over where we caught them on Tuesday but those fish weren't there. After searching three or four other spots we came across some surfacing fish, but they didn't look big. We caught and released several small Sandies and then I noticed something under them on the Sonar. It was Hybrids and lots of them. We were past our quitting time but we just couldn't leave these active feeders!! We hooked up several times on Shad and Slab Spoons....

To say that the fishing has been "Off" at Skiatook recently would be a huge understatement. I have had to reschedule some trips that were scheduled in August bbecause the fish were so elusive and finiky. I finally got a chance to go on a scouting trip this Tuesday to see if things have improved. I'm very glad to report that the "Bite" is back on. I caught several good sized Hybrids in different areas. They were in very good body condition and were biting very agressively. The fall pattern has started. This agressive bite is caused by shorter days...
