Tue, May 26, 2009 Tuesday was Awesome up on Skiatook. I met my clients at 7 AM. We left the dock and we headed to the first spot of the day and immediately started catching fish. We were short of our two person limit of Hybrids by 1 before 9 AM. We started the catch and release routine for the rest of the day. I lost count of how many fish we caught, but we used 100 shad before the end of the trip. read more No Comments

Fri, May 22, 2009   When a fishing guide starts a fishing report telling you what a beautiful day it was up on the lake, you might imagine that his day was pretty slow. That was the case with our trip on Thursday. We only boated one Hybrid all afternoon. I think the ticket yesterday would have been cut bait. We hit several spots but could not get it on the very frisky 3-4 inch shad I was using. read more No Comments

Thu, May 21, 2009 The fishing was much better on Wednesday.  My clients had received a Mothers Day gift certificate for a guided Hybrid trip on Skiatook. We met at 11 AM and had active fish on pretty quickly. We had another guest onboard today as well. Kelly Bostian, from the Tulsa World joined us and he'll be writing an article about our exploits today in an upcoming issue of the Tulsa World.  read more No Comments

Tue, May 19, 2009 The bite slowed down some today but our mission was to learn the lake a little more so we were moving around quite a bit looking at different spots. We did end up with a few fish for dinner as well. read more No Comments

Tue, May 19, 2009 We had a great day on the water today. This was a birthday trip for a son from a dad. We got a two person limit of Hybrids for a fish fry plus a few more just for fun. We had a few Sandies in the mix too. read more No Comments
  • Skiatook 5/15

Fri, May 15, 2009 Well it seems like there is some kind of problem every day. Here lately it's been mostly weather related. Today it was different though. I had a couple of new clients out today, one of them got a surprise guided hybrid trip from his wife. We got an early start from Tall Chief Cove and got on some fish pretty quickly. As the day wore on it became obvious that we would not be able to get a full limit of Hybrids because the fish were all over 20 inches. Here are a couple of pics. read more No Comments

Thu, May 14, 2009 Today started off pretty bad weather wise. My clients did not want to go out in the rain so we got them rescheduled. Since I was already at the lake I went out and scouted some new spots. I found some really active good sized Hybrids off a point in 10 Ft. of water. I'll be going back there to visit them again tomorrow. I did not get any pictures today. read more No Comments

Sat, May 09, 2009 What a day on Skiatook, it rained, it got windy, it got calm, and the sun came out. We caught fish during these four different conditions. The fish were good sized Hybrids and they were actively feeding today. The water temp was around 63 degrees in most places. We saw several members from the Striper Club and most were catching fish. Great day on the water, the spring time bite is on.  read more No Comments
  • Skiatook in April 2009

Sat, May 02, 2009 Late in April the fish at Skiatook finally turned on. We have been on the lake practically every day that the weather would allow. The fish are in their early spring pattern and we're getting most of them on free lines trolled very slowly behind the boat or on planer boards up against the bank. Water temps at the end of the month were mostly in the 58-59 degree range. read more 1 Comment
  • Sooner in April 2009

Sat, May 02, 2009 What a month at Sooner!! The fish started moving out of the discharge in late March and when they hit the main lake they were looking for FOOD. I was more than willing to serve up large portions of their favorite menu item. We had some fantastic trips in April. read more No Comments
  • Sooner in March 2009

Sat, May 02, 2009 The early spring fishing at Sooner was excellent this year. The trips we took in early March were in the discharge and the fish were very active. Later in the month the fish started moving out to the main body of the lake and were feeding very actively. read more No Comments
