  • Skiatook Friday Afternoon

Sat, May 26, 2007 These  two fish were caught up on skiatook Friday.  Yhey weighed 10.5 and 8.5 pounds. We had both of these fish on at the same time.  These are the biggest fish I've had in the boat this year from Skiatook.  Give me a call to book a trip  before the summer heat sets in and the fish are  still very active. • Monday at Skiatook

Mon, May 21, 2007 We had a hard time getting a limit today. I couldn't find any fish under 20 inches. We ended up cleaning 8 fish. We probably released a dozen big boys to fight again. The 4 big fish we kept were all gut hooked. Fish were caught in 29 ft. of 71 degree water. There was a pretty good breeze today but I've got an excellent anchor and lots of rope. Let's go get some. • Big Brother and Sisters of Green Country

Mon, May 21, 2007 The Oklahoma Striped Bass Association hosted a fishing event for 9 little brothers and sisters Saturday morning at Skiatook.  We met at the ramp at 8 AM and fished til 12. Everyone caught fish and had a great time with the kids. After the fishing we had a cookout with hotdogs and hamburgers and the works.  I'd like to thank the club members who gave their time to entertain these kids.  I'm sure we created some memories. • Skiatook Friday Afternoon

Fri, May 18, 2007 Friday afternoon was a repeat of  yesterday.  We caught fish just about anywhere we dropped a bait.  I totally lost count of how many fish we released.  We kept ten for a fish fry and  the rest are still swimming.  read more No Comments
  • Skiatook Thursday

Fri, May 18, 2007 I don't think the Hybrid fishing could be any better than it is now at Skiatook On Thursday  I lost count of how many fish we caught. I had three anglers and we kept a limit of fish and released at least 20 more. The fish are big this year, most fish caught on Thursday were over 20 inches. It was difficult to get our numbers of fish  under 20 inches. No Comments
  • Lonely Lake

Tue, May 15, 2007 I had an early morning trip with some regular clients this morning. When I got to the ramp there were no other trucks in the parking lot. We were the only boat on the lake. The bite was furious as soon as we got on our spot. It took 30 minutes before we could get out more than two rods. We caught fish like that for about two hours then it slowed a bit. It rained a couple of times but the bite really stopped when the wind shifted out of the north. When we started taking water over the... read more No Comments

  • Skiatook 5/11/07

Sun, May 13, 2007 We had a great trip friday with a father and four sons at Skiatook. We were on the afternoon bite and it was awesome just as it has been for the past two weeks. The lake is full now and I was a bit aprehensive about the fast rising lake levels. I'm happy to report that it did not affect the fishing. There is a lot of floating debris in the lake and some of it is BIG. Be sure to keep your eyes open if you're boating up there for the next couple of weeks. We kept a limit... read more No Comments

  • Skiatook

Sun, May 13, 2007 Saturday was a long day for me. I had a morning trip with a father and daughter and an afternoon trip wirh a father and son. We got good numbers of fish on both outings. The morning trip was hot from the very start and ended up a bit slow. The afternoon trip was slow at the beginning and ended up fast and furious. There were a lot boats on the lake Saturday and it looked like everyone was catching fish. The biggest fish was a seven pound 2 ounce brid we caught in the morning and we had several... read more No Comments
  • Friday 5/4/07

Sun, May 06, 2007 Friday afternoon at Skiatook was hot from the very start. Fishing conditions were ideal with overcast skies and a good breeze blowing. I had two clients from Owasso who were looking to score on some good sized Skiatook Hybrids. They were not disappointed. We quickly had nine good sized fish in the box with our four over 20 inches. We went into the catch and release mode for the next two hours when the clouds broke up and the wind really started blowing. Those fish we were on disappeared and I could not find any willing fish after that.  We... read more No Comments
  • Sunday on Carl Blackwell

Sun, May 06, 2007 Sunday started off with a bang. We caught this big boy before we could bait the second rod. The action was steady all afternoon. The wind was howling but we got anchored on some active fish and styed with them pretty much all day.  We cleaned about 20 3-4 pounders.  Released all the big fish.  No Comments
  • Cinco de Mayo

Sun, May 06, 2007 Cinco De Mayo was hot on Skiatook Saturday afternoon. Dave and I hosted seven gentlemen from Salina Kansas who were in town for a boys weekend out. These guys were here to have fun and we did that. The fish were hard to find and the Oklahoma wind made these guys feel at home. It was tough finding fish but we finally settled on a bunch of good sized 'Brids. The bite was steady but not fast and furious like it has been for the past two weeks. We never really marked any fish on the graph but they were... read more No Comments
