High temps and incredible amounts of pleasure craft have not diminished the bite at CB. I was up there on Saturday afternoon with four anglers looking for big fish. We didn't get any over seven pounds but at the end of the day I cleaned 30 good sized 'Brids. Most were in the three to five pound range. These clients were very impressed with the size and numbers of fish. We went through 100 baits in the six hour trip. What impressed me most was the willingness to bite with all the boat traffic nearby. What impressed me the least...

Today was even better than yesterday, both in numbers and size of fish. Several of the 30+ fish we caught today went over five pounds. There is an interesting quirk about the 'Brids at CB that I've never noticed anywhere else. These fish strike the baits on the tail. Most 'Brids in other lakes gobble down a shad head first. Our hookup rate for yesterday and early today was not too good until I started hooking the baits in the tail. After that adjustment we were back to almost 100%. I went up to Carl Blackwell Saturday afternoon to scout out some Hybrid action. I had heard that there were some big fish biting. That report was accurate!! We caught over 30 fish with the biggest one being a little over 8 pounds. The fish were suspended at 15 feet in 25 feet of water off any windy point. There was lots of boat traffic but the fish were not affected by it. Give me a call if you'd like to get into some bigger fish.

It was pretty hot up at Sooner this afternoon but the fishing and catching helped beat the heat. My clients today were a father and daughter from Sand Springs. This young lady was a trooper in that heat, but she was all over those 'Brids when we went over a school. The fish today were very concentrated and willing to take a shad. These were some of the biggest groups of fish I've seen all summer. They just wouldn't stay put. Five was the most we could pull out of any one school. They were all 3 to 5 pounds...

Had a trip up to Skiatook Friday afternoon, it was a father and son outing since it was Nate's 8th birthday trip. We had an excellent time it was pretty slow at first but we found some fish and Nate caught his biggest Hybrid ever. Well it was also his first Hybrid ever. I wish all of you could have seen how excited he was when he saw how big that fish was. We were on a pretty good school of fish and they pretty much stayed put for us until an intruder showed up. The rod went down like...
